D570 and D580 Combination Fire/Smoke Dampers. CSI 3-Part Specifications.
D570 and D580 |
General
The D570 and D580 Low-Leakage, Fire/Smoke Combination Dampers ("Dampers") are parallel-blade dampers designed for use in conventional air handling systems to control the spread of fire and smoke during emergency operation. The Dampers are leakage-rated and classified under Underwriters' Laboratories (UL) Standards 555 and 555S (Class I, II, and III) for use in fire and smoke control systems. The Dampers also meet NFPA 90A requirements.
The D570 Damper has a one-time fusible link. The D580 Damper has a resettable link.
Features
Silicone rubber blade seals and side seals for reduced leakage (Class I and II)
Galvanized steel construction for reduced corrosion
Jackshafted for positive blade action

Specifications
Models:
- D570 Damper with one-time fusible link
- D580 Damper with resettable link
Single Section Sizes:
NOTE: Dimension A is the nominal frame dimension along the blade length. Dimension B is the nominal frame dimension perpendicular to Dimension A.
Damper Dimensions for UL Standard 555S, Classes I, II, and III.
Multisection Dampers:
Maximum dimensions for vertical damper orientation (A = Dimension A, B = Dimension B): A 120 x B 30 in. (A 3048 x B 762 mm) or A 72 x B 84 in. (A 1829 x B 2137 mm)
NOTE: Maximum dimensions in these two ranges are allowable. However, both Dimensions A and B must be equal to or less than their respective limits. For example, if Dimension A = 80 in. (less than the 120-in. limit in the first range), Dimension B cannot exceed 30 in. (the other limit in the first range); if Dimension A = 70 in. (less than the 72-in. limit in the second range), Dimension B cannot exceed 84 in. (the other limit in the second range).
Maximum dimensions for horizontal damper orientation: 52 x 42 in. (1321 x 1067 mm)
NOTE: UL Standard 555 limits multisection Dampers to four sections.
Maximum Approach Velocity:

Roll-formed 16-gage galvanized steel, one piece, notched and joined at one corner
Blades:
Roll-formed 22-gage galvanized steel
Double 90-degree bend in blade tips
Double-wrapped edges and centers
Die-crimped blade corners to seal blade/frame joint
External Drive Axles:
1/2-in. (13-mm) diameter zinc-coated steel
External drive axl
