GENERAL

The Excel Life Safety (XLS) 200/1000 Fire & Security Bus Interface (F&S Bus Interface) connects XLS200/1000 panels to a F&S bus in the following configurations:

�  an existing W7053 series Bus Interface
�  a MPCP board within an Excel Building Supervisor (XBS) point server (XBS Ver. 1.3.3 or later).

The F&S Bus Interface (14507532-001) allows an existing F&S bus with FS90 Plus panels to be upgraded with XLS200/ 1000 panels. Existing sites do not need to change workstations or install an additional communications bus. The F&S Bus Interface allows new (XLS) and existing (FS90 Plus) fire panels to reside on a common F&S bus.

 

The F&S Bus Interface consists of a microprocessor-based, real-time function board that mounts in the XLS200/1000 enclosure. The board receives power from the XLS panel and requires no separate power supplies or battery backup. The F&S Bus Interface supports the existing F&S bus fiber optic interface for sites that require fiber optic transmission capabilities.

The data file EPROM software for the F&S Bus Interface is created using Computer Assisted Engineering (CAE). A conversion utility greatly simplifies the generation of the data file by extracting information from the XLS System Definition Utility (SDU) and creating a batch text file which inputs to the CAE environment.

29 panel addresses per F&S bus.
1500 points total per F&S bus.
Maximum of one XLS200/1000 panel reporting through the F&S Bus Interface.
Maximum of 967 points per XLS1000 (same as to FS90 Plus).
Addressable loops on the XLS panel are limited to 100 sensors and 99 modules, and devices that can be mapped over to the workstation.

RS-485 redundant connection for F&S Bus.
